Agree with Tony... It was an accident... of the sort you can expect with a drunk driver being pursued by slimeballs (what we call that sort of journalist in our house)

Can't say I've given much thought the British monarchy really. I like the British Who-Done-It's and some of the sitcoms, but I somehow never found much fascination in royal watching. However, I must admit a kick out of seeing some of the hats your, so called, upper classes wear. Sort of reminds me of Derby Day at Churchill Downs.

I can't say much about the Royal Ascot since I've never really heard of it before. But since my wife grew up in the Louisville, Kentucky area, I'm familiar with Churchill Downs. Alas! I'm not much of a horse person. With the exception of doing some riding in my youth, I'm not very acquainted with them at all.
I did have an uncle that, when forced to retire at age 75, he got a job exercising horses at the Fairmont City racetrack. Ge had an aversion to retirement that I don't really understand. He often said that once you retired you died. If memory serves he passed at 93.
Hummm... Royal Ascot... I suppose the men were all expected to wear ascots while the women wore fancy hats?
What's an Ascot? (seriously... no idea what it is)
