That's what I said above about Alexa traffic.
If you looked at the Alexa traffic ratings of some other sites (and their trends) you will see why sales on ebid are not as good as everyone wants them to be.

I think the Google changes are playing a part in this Julie. If sellers don't realise they have to get an exemption for their stores or put codes / brands on their items then their items won't be making it onto Google which in turn leads to less traffic for the site.

Not all sellers keep a regular eye on the forums so I think a special eBid mail shot would be helpful informing everybody how to get their items back onto Google if their items are no longer appearing there.

i have no idea on how to get my items back onto google and to be honest if it means doing lots of things and typing lots of numbers etc. my items won`t be shown as i really cannot concentrate on those sort of things these days , if google don`t want my items sod em

You have a good theory and one that should be looked in to.
But why has the Alexa ratings for two other major alt sites stayed up where it was ? (and even increased)
Surely they would have had the same problem with Google ?

Most of the items I have sold just lately have not shown up on google shopping but have shown up in normal google searches. I'm not entirely convinced google shopping is the b all and end all to the reason people are not selling.

Nothing really surprising there, just another little step towards thier goal. I was finding it more difficult and time consuming to find the used stuff I wanted to buy before I gave up and left that site a few months ago. So the more they push new, the more buyers will find other places to buy from, with any luck they will continue to find ebid.

Yeah - and because of the comparisons with the Google shopping, our items will not do too well against what the big companies can afford to sell at. At least, some of mine's won't!
