I have noticed a huge increase in the same happening on the other side in the past few weeks too- all new users , and from a variety of countries, but mainly Far East, UK and USA![]()
You're right again. I've had some buyers who spent three days buying stamps and/or coins, one at a time, very carefully. Those are the ones who ALWAYS pay when I send the invoice.
That said, I have had a few NPB in the last month, more than normal. It doesn't bother me anymore, because when you get down to it, it doesn't cost me anything, just a minor annoyance and relisting the items is easy.
Semi-good news
Both buyers have now paid
No response from seller
A third buyer has paid but has a line through their name. On checking, the buyer has a different address on ebid to paypal. I am waiting for a response from the buyer before I send the item.
I know that payers taking a long time to pay can be a pain in the @rse and its easy to say well they have instant payment over on the bay ... but .... instant payment doesnt cut out the time wasters or ones who have the item for a week and then want to return it for what ever reason..often cos they have worn it / used it and want their money back.
For the decent and honest buyers yes instant payment is a good thing..I wouldnt even dream of buying an item and not paying instantly for it...but those who do buy and not pay more often than not they do not have the decency to message and say can I have more time to pay /till the end of the week or till next week EVEN when the seller sends a message to ask if they want more time etc but that just seems to be human nature to some people on any of the auction sites.
I am not sure what stipulations paypal sets down for sites to have the 'instant payment' facility and I guess the site owners would have to weigh up all the pros and cons....
And would having the instant payment be tied into some of the other paypal rules that people so dislike over on the bay.
I know its easy to say its wanted but is it really NEEDED here.
If you are offering bank transfer ( no fees for seller to pay ) google,ppp.com, money orders etc wouldnt having the PP instant payment negate those other options as it does on the bay which would put off buyers who dont have PP accounts ?
Personally I think some NPBs just do it for the hell of it and know when they bid or buy that they have not enough funds or dont really want the item and its just to inconvenience the seller and yes there really are people out there who are like that sad as it may be.
Ta-Ta for now!
