    I don't know how it works on Google Shopping, but I do know that on vanilla Google, if two listings are identical Google will only show one of them. The others get buried in a line called "see similar listings" (or words to that effect). This can also happen if two listings are not absolutely identical, and not even from the same seller, but contain the same lengthy description. My son has an online drop-shipping store and I've spent a lot of time rewording descriptions supplied by the manufacturers in order to get his pages out of the pack.

    What's vanilla Google?

    Plain Google, the original search engine. As opposed to Google Shopping, which only lists items that are being offered for sale.

    When I'm looking for a particular item, regular Google brings up a lot of informational pages, sometimes with only a remote connection to the item, but containing the keywords that I entered. It's sometimes hard to find the ones that are actually selling what I'm looking for.

    Use Facebook to market. Create an account there that is for your store, search the "groups" on the site for groups that would fit the criteria of what you are selling. Get people to add you as a friend from within the group, then you advertise products for sale on the "wall". I don't know if it will work because I don't use facebook enough to get "friends" so my advertisment wouldn't reach any prospective customers.

    But if you go to those groups, you'll be adding people with interests in your products. Your advertisments could be more "directed" this way. I will probably try marketing this way, but I would assume it would work better than just random advertisment. You could also advertise "Incentive Discounts" via the facebook wall. It's another avenue worth trying.

    To me the number of listings should not make any difference to Google.
    But it is obvious that the more items you have listed the more you will sell (if they are wanted items and well priced that is)

    @youmeus
    I understand how you feel, it is hard to stay motivated if you don't get the odd (or regular) sale.

    but then you see people like Bunsock above and they are doing well.

    @bunsock
    Well done !

    Then again perhaps Bunsock is doing well as they have 4 stores each selling something a bit unusual.

    I do find that many ebid sellers are selling jewelry and collectibles and used clothes.
    So if everyone is selling the same thing it makes it harder to sell.
