But I like being up front and honest.
There is nothing dishonest about choosing to protect your privacy to a tiny extent, in a world where nearly everything about you is in the public domain. I can go to your profile page, and see exactly what you're reading, or posting, or reporting or whatever... would you like a nice sign in your window at home that reported to the passing public what page of the newspaper you'd reached, or if you'd nipped off for a wee?

p.s. let me put it this way... are you enjoying that thread about wooden knitting needles? You've been in there a few minutes. Left the KT, into arts & crafts, then picked that thread...

*shudders a bit at playing stalker* *spit, spit*

But you take my point, I'm sure.

    OK~ I see your point.

Perhaps honest wasn't the best word to chose.

I do look at the bottom to see if my friends are on line or not. I find it a very useful tool. It also means I can avoid people also.

Ooh... but it's such a fine line. I'm trying to keep it under control, but the wall of photographs is filling up...

! too saw a thread about being invisible and clicked it on while clicking off some of the email reminders about increased bids etc etc... just followed the advice. Until just now had forgotten - I suppose I thought most folk were invisible.

Also sometimes I have 5 minutes to spare and have a quick lookie-see but don't have the time to join in so is better to be invisible than appear rude or disinterested.

If I don't have much time, I don't sign in, just peek to see if my friends are about.

If I have time to talk, I sign in

Didn't know about the invisible thing, until recently.

So anyone who runs on the forums as 'invisible' is dishonest? Thanks for that slur.

All invisibility does, as far as I am aware, is not display whether you are logged into eBid's forums and what particular activity you are carrying out at the time. Why should that be information you feel you need to know about another user? I still make all posts under my own name and as such all are attributable to me and I can be held responsible for their content.

I really don't see what issues you have on this whole thread. Unless, as I hinted earlier, you are simply trolling to elicit responses. If so, while admittedly only knowing you through these forums, I think that is beneath you.
