How can an item get to the U.S.A by surface mail in 5 days from UK?

Depends on where in the US. I have packages going out to the UK that get there faster than packages I send to the Midwest part of the US.

I still think many countries have a merchant fleets. USPS doesn't offer surface shipping but I believe some countries still do.
