I've had a few experiences like that. In every case, I went home, sent a letter to the company telling them (1) I will never shop there again (2) Every person I know is going to hear about the incident, and will probably never shop there again (3) There are many other companies anxious to take our money (4) Goodbye.

Yes, it takes a few minutes, and costs a few pennies for the postage. But, I felt SO GOOD when I mailed these letters! I think venting is good for my blood pressure.

In a couple of cases, I got an apology and a refund. I did go back to those stores. A few of the companies (Circuit City and CompUSA, for example) are now out of business. I suspect a lot of other people had similar bad experiences with them.

Sorry but I must agree with Paul, it doesnt matter what the price is, it is the principle of the matter. Trading standards obviously think the same other wise they would have told him it wasnt April 1st and he should get a life. So good on him, if it helps get some of the crap thats imported into this country every day all well and good.

I agree that principle is the key here. Speaking of that and condoms, there's a condom shop in Manchester that I refuse to buy from on principle because they wont let me try 'em on first.
