Mondomundi is part of The Mundi Group, a business dedicated to promoting fair trade and sustainable living. Since its establishment in 2005, the group has seen rapid growth in its operating activities, which include retail, wholesale and financial services.
We are a "not JUST for profit" company. The business exists to make a profit, but, much more importantly, it exists to make a difference. The shareholders and directors share a common belief that it is unsustainable for the “developed world” to continue to abuse its position and financial muscle at the expense of small farmers and producers all over the world in the quest for maximum profit. Likewise we cannot continue to pollute and ravage the planet without serious consequences. Therefore, The Mundi Group has endeavoured to make alternative products, which are completely ethically sourced, more widely available.
Mondomundi is dedicated to Fair Trade and comprises our retail chain of stores as well as our online shop. Established in January 2006, this is our largest division and is at the core of our business.
A member of BAFTS, the British Association for Fair Trade Shops, mondomundi is a leading Fair Trade brand. Apart from the stores, we also have own Fair Trade products certified by the Fairtrade Foundation.
The Mondomundi Foundation is a charitable trust created by the founders of The Mundi Group and is financed from the profits of the Group, as well as through charitable donations. The principal objectives of the Foundation are to improve the educational opportunities for children in the developing world.
