Thanks so much for taking the time to find out more about me as a seller... which is especially wise, when buying a toy or gift for a baby! (Please bear with me whilst I get everything listed on here!)
Knowing what you're giving your baby...
It's only natural and prudent that you want to know what you're giving your child, bearing in mind how much time they spend cuddling their favourite friends and with babies being notorious for putting anything they can get their hands on in their mouths! So it's really worthwhile going to the extra effort of finding out more about what you're buying... and who you're buying from!
My criteria and ethics...
In 2008, I set up a much-loved business specialising in organic cotton toys for anyone, like me, who prefers to give their babies and toddlers toys that are non-toxic, hypoallergenic AND planet-friendly.
The minimum criteria that I've always applied, for every toy I've sold at The Organic Toy Company, is that it has to have CERTIFIED 100% organic cotton as the MAIN OUTER FABRIC. Some of the toys may have minor trimmings that aren't 100% organic and only some of the toys are organic inside and out.
Of course, my ideal would have always been for all the toys to be absolutely 100% organic.
Unfortunately though, there are so few manufacturers offering this level of organic integrity, that this would have meant an extremely limited choice of toys to offer and also when the filling's organic too, that also affects the pricing.
From my perspective, an important consideration has always been to do my utmost to make organic toys available to all budgets. So an advantage of allowing different fillings has meant that the needs of lower budgets could also be met, whilst still still stipulating that the main fabric - that's in contact with delicate skin and curious mouths - is certified 100% organic cotton.
Detailed descriptions...
In order to ensure my customers always know precisely what they're buying in relation to their needs and expectations, I've always gone to great lengths to ask for very detailed information from every supplier about the toys I stock, enabling me to pass this on to my customers.
Armed with so much information, I can provide you with as much transparency as possible about exactly what each toy is made from... as well as it's ethical production history.
Hence the detailed description shown with every toy's listing.
(Do watch out for retailers making claims of a 100% organic toy as I've seen so many describing the whole toy as 100% organic when I know, with certainty from my own research, that this simply isn't true.
In most cases, this isn't actually the retailer intentionally setting out to deceive... it's usually just that they haven't done their homework before making false assumptions, often based on manufacturers' sometimes ambiguous wording!)
Why no website now...
So you may be wondering why I'm now listing toys on here...
In February 2019, after almost 11 years of trading - and with a heavy heart - I took my website offline. It's been getting harder and harder to source organic toys, especially from UK suppliers.
Of the two best-selling brands, one really sadly went into liquidation and the other discontinued their organic range, despite its popularity.
The latter is a brand that's known for only producing limited quantities of their toys before changing them, although they did keep their organic range running far, far, longer than they'd originally intended.
So the items I've listed here are the last toys left in stock, after closing the website.
Looking after you...
I've been so appreciative of all the really touching support and the many loyal and returning customers I've had over more than a decade and it's been a real privilege to have been a go-to provider to so many and as their families have expanded with the arrival of new babies!
I've always looked after every customer with the best care and consideration that I'd ever hope to have myself when I'm a customer. If you have any concerns at all, please do get in touch with me and I'll always do my utmost to make sure you're happy with your purchase.
Over the many years of trading I'm delighted to be able to say that I could probably count on one hand how many returns I've had. In almost all (if not all) cases, this was usually due to customers not noticing the sizes or age-suitability, which I include with every toy's description. So please do take time to check these prior to buying.
If for any reason you're not happy with your purchase, all I reasonably ask is that any returns are in good, saleable condition, with all tags and labelling still intact and free from any odours such as smoke or fragrances that would render them unsaleable... particularly for babies. (In the unlikely event that you need to return an item, please do get in touch with me first, so I can provide you with clear information about returns - the returns policy page on here is limited to a mere 500 characters, which doesn't allow me to set the policy out in clear detail.)
I take great care in ensuring that my stock is stored carefully in a dust-protective way and there is no scope whatsoever for them to be exposed to smoke, fragrance or pet allergens.
The detailed descriptions should help you to make informed and educated decisions about every toy, but by all means to get in touch if you have any questions.
Please do bear with me if I'm unable to reply straight away as I'm now working on a new chapter work-wise (which is also related to conscious living, but from a mindset aspect), but I'll always get back to you as soon as I can.

I recently became uncle to my sister's beautiful baby boy. Little Keenan was born in India, a country his parents fell in love with a few years ago. As they returned to Europe, I wanted to find a present for the baby that would reflect his birthplace and set out to find a toy elephant. It had to be organic, suitable for a new born and small enough for a travelling family.
I came across the Organic Toy Company on an internet search and the beautiful Nature's Purest Sleepy Safari Elephant Rattle; it ticked all the boxes so I proceeded with the on-line purchase. The process was straightforward and only took a few minutes; I received an email confirmation of the order shortly after. To my surprise later on that afternoon, I received a call from Natalie at The Organic Toy Company to notify me that the order had been processed and that my purchase was on its way.
I was impressed by the prompt service and my excitement was clearly infectious as we ended up chatting for a good 15 minutes with me telling Natalie the reasons for my choice and the news of my travelling new nephew.
When the elephant arrived it was beautifully wrapped in tissue paper (although it was not an option I had chosen) with a lovely note from Natalie with best wishes for baby, parents and doting uncle.
Little Keenan finally made it to London, aged 2 months and met his toy elephant. It was an instant hit with baby and parents and was quickly named Tom; it now takes pride of place among the other soft toys from family and friends.
My overall experience of TOTC has been nothing but very positive. The service I received from Natalie was second to none and continues as we are still exchanging emails about the progress and travels of baby Keenan who by now is in new home in Saint-Tropez. Natalie being a mum herself understood what joy a newborn brings to the whole family, including a very doting uncle!
If you're looking for that special gift with the added bonus of excellent service, I can whole-heartedly recommend OTC. I have already spotted a few more toys on the site for baby Keenan when he will be a little older!

When I chose them as the site from which to buy a Christmas present for my little second cousin I felt spoilt for choice. The range of toys was great and the website was well-presented and easy to navigate.
The most poignant part of my experience however came from the top-notch customer service I received.When an unavoidable technical issue hindered my purchase, I was set to give up. However, despite it being the busy approach to Christmas, Natalie went out of her way to set up alternative arrangements and assure I got the toy delivered in plenty of time. I cannot stress enough how helpful and friendly all our exchanges were, even at what must have been a stressful time!
My toy was delivered swiftly, packaged neatly and securely, and in excellent condition on arrival. Although I have had no feedback from its recipient, I was certainly impressed with the quality of the product!
