Wooden Treen Inlaid Pot / Cannister / Tabacco Jar

Lovely vintage wooden pot, possibly a tabacco jar ? It has a tiered lid with metal finial and an inlaid lighter wood band in the centre. No maker's mark. It has a split in the wood on one side, please see photos, but otherwise in good condition. Still an attractive container.
