Washington Memorial Chapel, Valley Forge, PA, USA.

This is a very old unused colour postcard of Washington Memorial Chapel, Valley Forge, PA – Founded by The Rev. W Herbert Burk, DD. I don’t know the exact age of this card, but it must be from the early 1900s, as the card asks for a one cent stamp, which was the postage rate at that time. There is a short narrative on the reverse – “Valley Forge is fifteen miles outside of Philadelphia and is one of America’s Patriotic Shrines. Here, Washington encamped during the winter of 1777-1778 with the Continental troops”. It is a “CT Art-Colortone” Post Card by Lynn H Boyer, Philadelphia and Wildwood, NJ, numbered VF59, 1A-H244 and the card is in very good condition -- no creases or obvious marks (other than a tiny scuff near the top right corner), even the corners remain mostly sharp.
