The Cover Bears An Applied Plate;
"Presented To Lieutenant Commander
Charles Edward Evans R.N.V.R., etc"
Whilst the front pastedown bears C.E.Evans Book Plate and the is an additional six pages bearing the names of each person attending the birthday celebration bound into the front of the publication.

Lieutenant Commander C. E. Evans R.N.V.R. (1858 - 1944).
Born at sea, he set a pace, exporting Coal. He soon owned a steam shipping line and served in one capacity or another in both world wars.

The book measures approx, 22cm by 28.5m, 108pp.
Illustrated frontis tissue protector detatched but present.
No other illustration in the publication ever bore a tissue protector.

The book is complete and tightly bound with no loss.
Occasional spots of foxing and edge toning, else very good.

The half leather bindings are also in a good general condition with some surface marking a rubbed spine fascia and some cracking to the top of the rear joint.
