Seller's Description
A Victor Red Seal Label from the mid-1940's and one of the "Big Three" in label names. This double-sided recording still plays extremely well, and shows only faint wear, with significant gloss remaining! Kept in a sleeve, scratches are minimal. No skips, chips, or cracks, and minimal background noise.
Side 8042-A, which was acoustically recorded January 6, 1910, presents the tenor and soprano (Frances Alda) voices in, "Miserere", with the Metropolitan Opera Chorus and Orchestra.
Side 8042-B, which was acoustically recorded January 17, 1913, offers "Ai Nostri Monti" - (Home To Our Mountains), a tenor and contralto (Ernestine Schumann-Heink). Both are performed by Enrico Caruso and are songs from the Verdi opera "Il Trovatore" - Act IV.
Both sides are in the Italian language.
