"Plast" is a national scouting organization of Ukraine. The purpose of Plast is to promote comprehensive patriotic education and self-education of Ukrainian youth on the basis of Christian morality. As a non-political and non-denominational organization, Plast educates conscious, responsible and full-fledged citizens of local, national and global communities and leaders of Ukrainian society.

Plast was created in 1911, shortly after the founding of the Scout movement by Robert Baden-Powell in 1907. And already on April 12, 1912, in Lviv, members of the "Crows" circle took the first Plast Oath. Among the founders of the organization were Ivan Chmola, Oleksandr Tysovsky and Petro Franko. The name "Plast" is based on the equivalent of the English "Scout", taken from the example of the Plastuns - Cossack scouts.

Plastuns distinguished themselves by their active participation in the development and defense of their state, were active participants in the liberation movement and the wars for the independence of the Ukrainian People's Republic and the Ukrainian People's Republic of China in the 20th century. and continue to protect the borders of Ukraine in our time. Among the heroes of the Heavenly Hundred there are two platoons: Guryk Roman and Bohdan Solchanyk. During the war, five of the famous platoon fighters died in the ATO - Marko Paslavskyi, Viktor Gurnyak, Yevhen Podolyanchuk, Mykola Gordiychuk, Andriy Bilyk. Today, in addition to Ukraine, Plast operates in ten other countries of the world (among them Plast in the USA, Plast in Argentina, Plast in Canada, Great Britain, Plast in Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Spain) and unites Plastun of Ukraine and the Ukrainian diaspora. As of the beginning of 2019, Plast in Ukraine unites 8,500 members of various ages and is thus the largest youth organization in Ukraine. Today, 118 Plast branches operate in all regions of Ukraine. Plast actively cooperates with state authorities and public organizations, implementing various social and educational programs.

During the year, Plastuns conduct more than 100 educational camps of various specializations, organize socio-cultural and educational events, including spreading the Bethlehem Flame of Peace, Plastun Day, Plastun Charity Evening and others.

Also, once every 3 years, the KUPO (Conference of Ukrainian Plast Organizations) is held, at which managers are elected who will manage the work of Plast in the world until the next KUPO.
