Toddlers Dress with Smocked Bodice, McCalls 9293. McCall Pattern Co, NY, 1968. Infant/Baby/Toddler Size: Small (6 Mos to 1 Year). At least one pattern style cut. Cutting layout and instructions complete. Envelope in good condition. 4 pattern pieces. Bodice only cut, transfer not used. Dress may be either smocked or shirred, front and back, to a high waistline. View A, fabric is stitched to elastic on the inside to make shirring. Transfer is used to stamp smocking dots on View B, where rows of cable stitch are worked in 6-strand cotton or pearl cotton. The same smocking appear is View C, in 1/4-inch check fabric, but no transfer is used since the checks take the place of smocking dots. Views A and B are bound in self fabric at the neck.
