Overall condition is on the low end of acceptable. This book is, 100%, a reader's copy and priced accordingly for this first printing of the Cardinal Edition of this novel. By reader's copy, you have a excellent example of this book you dare not read so as to keep it pristine. So, you buy a complete beater copy of the book which you can read to your heart's content and not have to worry about messing up your prime copy. As such, I will not get into all the flaws associated with this particular copy. You can use the zoom feature to take a look for yourself on the condition of the front and back covers (creases, missing chips, small tears, etc.). The spine has a crack that runs vertically parallel to the front cover and the original glue which supported the binding has dried and fallen out (giving the appearance that the spine is "floating" on the ends). To repair this, a strip of clear binding tape has been applied to the spine and new glue added to keep the book from falling apart. Interior pages have discolored with age.
