Offered is the first printing by William Morrow and Company of this novel featuring Perry Mason. Overall condition is on the low end of acceptable. The dust jacket is missing and this has been factored into the asking price along with the condition. This is a ex-library library book which has seen a significant amount of usage and wear and then got beat up along the way after being discarded until it ended up in my hands. One flap of the dust jacket is glued onto the inside back cover. Not sure who did that...the library or someone else. There is a checkout card pocket on the inside of the front cover along with numerous library branch ink stampings. On the first page, another checkout slip had been glued to the page and is now gone, leaving an outline. Pages have discolored with age with some staining on random pages. The spine is missing about an inch and a half of bottom though the cardboard holding the pages remains. The exterior of the spine was coming off, requiring me to carefully apply glue to prevent further damage. I would NOT try to remove the black tape. Corners are well rounded and somewhat frayed. Did I say it was a ex-library book?
