Original 1872 6 1/2 inch x 9 7/8 inch coloured print titled FESTUCA OVINA, VAR. GENUINA. SHEEP’S FESCUE-GRASS, VAR. A.

Festuca ovina, sheep's fescue or sheep fescue, is a species of grass. It is sometimes confused with hard fescue. It is a perennial plant sometimes found in acidic ground, and in mountain pasture, throughout Europe (with the exception of some Mediterranean areas) and eastwards across much of Asia; it has also been introduced to North America.

Drawn by John Edward Sowerby (1825 - 1870). A British botanical illustrator and publisher born in Lambeth, London.
