Sebastian Miniature Charles Dickens SML 208 1979
Emlyn Williams, noted Welsh actor, toured the United States in 1952 and 1953 recreating Charles Dickens reading from his own works. Baston created 200 "Emlyn williams as charles Dickens" miniatures for the Sol Hurok organization which used them as gifts to drama critics in the cities where Williams was to appear. Two years later, Baston dropped the "Emlyn Williams" from the base, and Charles Dickens joined his family of characters in Baston's retail stores.
This piece has the blue label on the bottom which puts it's manufacture around 1979.
Measures 3 " tall. Base is 1 3/4" wide. Does not have the original box, but a nice gift box will be included.
