Purple Botryoidal ("Grape Agate") Chalcedony: Small "Finger" Display; Indonesia

The term "botryoidal" refers to a resemblance to a cluster of grapes, and few minerals come closer to looking like a bunch of grapes than this chalcedony from a recent discovery in Indonesia. Some have even been mounted as-is in jewels. This is an attractive - much prettier than my photos indicate - finger-shape example that is mounted on a clear, beveled acrylic base for display.

Photographs were taken under natural sunlight with the specimen dry. The piece comes mounted on a transparent acrylic base using water soluble adhesive. Note that the photographs show the base covered by brown protective paper that is easily peeled off.
