Seller's Description

Original French 47 inch x 63 inch Poster for the 1967 Peter Watkins Sci-Fi Drama PRIVILEGE, based on a story by Johnny Speight and starring Paul Jones, Jean Shrimpton, William Job, Mark London, Jeremy Child and Max Bacon.

A real 1960s pop star, Jones of Manfred Mann, does well in this futuristic story about a pop star turned by the totalitarian state into a religious saviour as an opiate of the people.

Poster art by Jean Mascii. Mascii was one of the most prolific French film poster artists of the second half of the 20th century creating over 2,000. He was born in Italy in 1926 his family then settled in France in 1932. He began work designing cinema facades and designed his first film poster for La Dame D'Onze Heures starring Paul Meurisse in 1947. He died in Paris in 2003.

The poster is in fine folded condition.
