Seller's Description
Original 9 3/4 inch x 7 3/4 inch Portrait of TERRY-THOMAS in the 1956 John Boulting Comedy PRIVATE'S PROGRESS, based on the story by Alan Hackney..
Private's Progress was the film that started the Boultings on their comedic rampage through British institutions and this is arguably the sharpest. As an indication of how irreverently it treats the sacrosanct, at one point Major Hitchcock (Terry-Thomas) sneaks off duty (in the middle of a war) to go and see In Which We Serve at the cinema - only to find the cinema full of similarly skiving soldiers from his own camp.
The portrait is in fine condition.
