Seller's Description

Here is an absolutely beautiful blazer and skirt suit in charcoal or black, with subtle windowpane lines in blue and tan.  (I have lightened the photos a little so you can see the detail.)  The label inside the blazer says "Portfolio" with "Rothschild's" underneath.  I cannot find a size tag in the blazer, but the skirt tag says 16.  This skirt set is handsomely and expensively tailored inside and out and is made of a tightly woven menswear fabric.  This is a pre-owned outfit, but I can find no signs of wear on the shell or the lining of either piece.  It was obviously very well cared for.  I don't know the original price of this suit, but ladies' suits of this quality generally sell for around $400.

The blazer has notched lapels and two lower front pockets.  It closes with a single button and there are three buttons on each sleeve.  The blazer is fully lined with exquisite attention to detail on the inside.  It has lightly padded shoulders.  There is an inside pocket on the lower front; you can see this on the closeup showing the store's label.  The tag in the neck says "Professionally Dry Clean and Press, Made in U.S.A."

The longer length skirt is also fully lined and has a hidden zipper and two side seam pockets.  A fabric tab closes with a single button over the zipper.  The 1-3/16" flat waistband is pleated in the front.  There is a 11-3/4" double inverted walking slit in the back.  The tag in the waistband says "Dry Clean Only, Made in U.S.A., Size 16".

Because I am not certain of the size of the blazer, please check the measurements carefully against something that you know fits.  If you need any measurements that are not given, please ask!  When laid flat, the shoulders measure 17", the chest is 21" and the length is 26-3/4".  The shoulder sleeve to cuff measure is 23" and the sleeve inseam is 14-3/4".  My best guess is that these measurements are consistent with a Misses size 12 or 14.

When laid flat, the waistband of the skirt measures 15-5/8".  The hip measurement, taken 9 inches below the waist, is 22-1/4".  The length from waistband to hem is 31-7/8".  Although the skirt is marked as a size 16, these measurements indicate that it does run smaller than normal for that size.  Again, I am guessing the measurements of this suit would be more consistent with a Misses size 12 or 14, than a 16.

This classic blazer and skirt set is beautifully constructed and in near mint condition.  It would be perfect for any professional or dressy setting.  It is a timeless and elegant outfit that will last for many, many years.  This is a great chance to own an expensive suit at a fraction of the original cost!
