I bought this on a recent trip to Whitehorse, Yukon.

This black and white postcard shows 3 miners working a claim by heating up water and lowering it down a shaft to thaw the permafrost.

This Postcard is new and has never been mailed.

It measures 6 X 4 inches.

This postcard is in good condition.

The rear reads:

The windless, used to lower buckets of heated water down to the level at which miner is working. The hot water would be poured on the frozen permafrost in an effort to thaw it and so make the digging "easier".
