Original French 11 5/8 inch x 9 1/8 inch Still of JEAN MARAIS & MARIE DEA in the 1950 Jean Cocteau Fantasy ORPHEE signed in ink by Jean Marais.
Jean Cocteau’s variation of the Orpheus myth about a young poet (Jean Marais), scorned by the Left Bank youth, and his love for both his wife, Eurydice (Déa), and a mysterious princess (Maria Casarès). Seeking inspiration, the poet follows the princess from the world of the living to the land of the dead, through Cocteau’s famous mirrored portal.

The still is in good condition with a horizontal crease towards the top and several small surface marks only visible when held against the light.
