Observations of Russia by David Packard. Published by Hewlett-Packard Co, Palo Alto, CA, May 1960. 1st Edition. Paperback. No DJ. Size 4to (up to 12'' tall). Condition: VG. Edge chipping, tape repair, overall content excellent. 29 Pgs. The author, president of Hewlett-Packard Co, was among a group of Northern California business men who toured Soviet Russia in 1954 at the invitation of First Deputy Premier Anastas A Mikoyan. The 2-week tour included visits to Moscow, Leningrad and Kiev. Mr. Packard was also able to visit several industrial plants and to observe and evaluate Russian electronics technology. This book is a copy of his informal report to Hewlett-Packard employees on his observations and impressions he gained during his trip. The book is illustrated by a noted San Francisco artist, Earl Thollander, who also toured Russia at approximately the same time as Mr. Packard.
