Original 1840 9 1/4 inch x 6 1/2 inch Stipple, etching and steel engraving titled MRS GARDEN CAMPBELL.
Portrait; three quarter length, standing to right, on terrace, hand on balcony; shawl drawn loosely around arms; hair in ringlets.
Illustration to Heath's 'Book Of Beauty'.
Engraved by William Henry Mote (1803 - 1871). He was an English stipple and line engraver, primarily known for his portraits. He produced etchings for reference books, as well as original etchings. Mote became a member of the Royal Academy in his twenties and his portraits hang in the National Portrait Gallery, London.
From a picture by William Fisher (1817 - 1895). Printmaker and painter.
Published in October, 1840, by Longman & Co., Paternoster Row, London.
