Seller's Description

Both scenes as viewed from Goat Island. Left card, #3771, has no writing and never mailed. From mid to late 1920's. Light creases and light soiling on borders, and reading:

"Luna Island, the point of which is shown, cannot be reached by carriage, for it is accessible only by a foot bridge that connects it with Goat Island. It is a dainty little bit of soil and verdure, gradually wasting from the gnawing waters, and in another century may be eaten away entirely. Goat Island, however, will remain, for it is both large and rugged and from it a superb view of the American Falls may be obtained."

The right card, Metropolitan #44386, was messaged and mailed in 1939 and advertises: "This new enhancement of America's beauty resources is nothing more than the Falls, under flood lighting for four hours each night. Their own power has been taken from them brought under the control of man, and then turned back upon the power creator itself, and we get a new beauty, ten-fold greater than any beauty known at the Falls before man took hold to conquer them for service."

Both cards have sharp edges and no tears.
