Original Russian 23 inch x 33 inch Poster for the 1959 Josef Heifits Romance THE LADY WITH THE LITTLE DOG (DAMA S SOBACHKOY), based on the novel by Anton Chekhov and starring Iya Sawina, Aleksey Batalov, Nina Alisova, Pantelejmon Krymov and Yuri Medevdev.
Attractive, meticulously played, subtly written, sensitively made film of Chekhov’s story about a Yalta turn-of-the-20th-century romance between a married woman and a man. Lovely but sad Sawina is holidaying with just a dog as company when she meets Moscow banker Batalov; they carry on back to Moscow.
The poster is in very good folded condition with a couple of edge tears and other minor faults. The poster has been rolled for some time so will be shipped in gorilla proof tube.
