Original French 47 inch x 63 inch Poster for the 1985 J. Lee Thompson Adventure KING SOLOMON'S MINES, based on the novel by H. Rider Haggard and starring Richard Chamberlain, Sharon Stone, Herbert Lom, John Rhys-Davies and Ken Gampu.
Fortune hunter Allan Quatermain teams up with a resourceful woman to help her find her missing father lost in the wilds of 1900s Africa while being pursued by hostile tribes and a rival German explorer.
Poster art by Jean Mascii. Mascii was one of the most prolific French film poster artists of the second half of the 20th century creating over 2,000. He was born in Italy in 1926 his family then settled in France in 1932. He began work designing cinema facades and designed his first film poster for La Dame D'Onze Heures starring Paul Meurisse in 1947. He died in Paris in 2003.
The poster is in very good folded condition.
