Seller's Description

Original 9 3/8 inch x 7 1/8 inch Still with Jimmy Hanley wading in The Grand Union Canal at Boxmoor, Hemel Hempstead with the River Bulbourne running adjacent beyond the wall for the 1948 Jeffrey Dell Comedy IT'S HARD TO BE GOOD also starring Raymond Huntley, Anne Crawford, Edward Rigby, Elwyn Brook-Jones, Geoffrey Keen, Lana Morris, David Horne, Muriel Aked, Cyril Smith, Alison Leggatt and Wensley Pithey.

A conscientious captain emerges from the war with ambitions to spread peace and goodwill, but finds that his message is misunderstood.

The photo is by Dennis Reed with his stamp on the reverse. Reed entered the film industry as still camera assistant to Frank Buckingham, in 1932, at the Nettlefold Studios, Walton-on-Thames. He worked at the same studios as still cameraman from 1935 until 1938, moving on to Denham Studios.

The still is in very good condition with slight curling due to age.
