India 1944 cover EXPERIMENTAL POST OFFICE B-550 Polish Refugee Camp Kohlapur
Addressed to the International Committee of the Red Cross, insufficiently paid "T" in circle, violet cansor handstamp on front DHC/318, with censor tape and backstamped censor PASSED DHC/66.  An attractive cover with plenty happening!
In July 1943 a camp for 5,000 Polish refugees who had fled the USSR was established at Valivade, Kohlapur.
Experimental PO B-550 was established at the camp c.1943, closing c.1948.
