Text from the free encyclopedia WIKIPEDIA may appear below to give a little background information:
*************
Cassis (French pronunciation: [kasi, kasis]; Occitan: Casss) is a commune situated east of Marseille in the department of Bouches-du-Rhne in the Provence-Alpes-Cte d'Azur region in southern France.
It is a popular tourist destination,[1] famous for its cliffs (falaises) and the sheltered inlets called calanques. The wines of Cassis are white and ros, and not to be confused with crme de cassis, a specialty of Burgundy which takes its name from blackcurrants (cassis), not the commune.
