Original 1823 14 inch x 17 inch lithograph titled HEN AND COCKEREL ON STRAW

A hen and a cockerel on straw.

Print made by Kaspar Auer (1795 - 1821). German painter and lithographer.

From the painting by Aelbert Cuyp (1620 - 1691). Painter of mainly landscapes and cows.

Printed by Joseph Selb (1784 - 1832). Lithographer in Munich. Took over Zeller's first lithographic shop in 1815.

Inscription: Lettered in lower margin with production details: "Albert Kuyp pinx." and "Gedruckt von Jos. Selb" and "C. Auer del."

The lithograph is in good to very good condition, mounted on card with some water staining in the bottom border. Reverse side blank
