United Kingdom 1972 Silver Wedding Commemorative Crown (UNC)
This Crown is mounted in a presentation case with a double sided view. In 1972 the Royal Mint was honoured to strike commemorative crowns to mark the 25th anniversary of the marriage of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh. Both the obverse and reverse are the work of Arnold Machin. The obverse bears his beautiful portrait of the Queen, while the reverse features the initials E and P, royally crowned and surrounded by decorative sprays of foliage. The mythical figure of Eros can be seen between the E and P.
