These awesome Giant-Size Comics were first released in the summer of 1974 and are coveted by Comics’ Collector’s today! I am the original owner...these are all bought by me off the newsstands when they were released!
2 – Oct. 1974 – VF/NM! “Frankenstein Monster Meets Werewolf by Night!” is an awesome 30 pages by Doug Moench, Don Perlin & Vince Colletta! The Frankenstein Monster travels to California to see if Danton Vayla can help him. The Brotherhood of Baal, run by Vayla, kidnaps Jack’s Sister Lissa Russell, who went there to seek a cure for him! The Cult is to sacrifice her in a magical ritual to summon a dark spirit! Jack Russell, while searching for his sister, changes into the Werewolf by Night and attacks the Frankenstein Monster in a fury slashing and biting the creature who slams his against the floor and walls. Finally, the Monster emerges victorius, knocking Jack out. Awaking finds himself bound on the alter about to be sacrificed! The Monster will not abide murder, and stops the knife & throws Vayla against the inverted cross which falls & crushes him. The Werewolf breaks his bonds, and the two creatures plow through the remaining cultists. The house collapses into the sea & the Creatures escape on the beach below!
3 – Jan. 1975 – NM-! “Castle Curse!” by the same shows us that Jack’s Werewolf Curse may have been written in his family tree, as he visits the old country joined by Lissa, Buck Cowan & Topaz! “The Visitor” by Stan Lee & George Roussos sees a man is convinced that some fog is controlling humans all around him and when he is confronted by mist he goes off his rocker! r/p Adventures into Terror #13 (Dec. 1952)! “The Man Who Went Back!” by Carl Wessler & Pete Tumlinson has A man is pursued through time by tax collectors! “The Man Who Talked to Rats!” by Manny Stallman & “Hands of Death!” by Don Perlin!
4 – Apr. 1975 – NM-! “A Meeting of Blood!” by Doug Moench & Virgil Redondo sees Werewolf in Los Angeles, as Morbius the Living Vampire glides silently after Martine Bancroft, his one-time fiancé. Recounting his origin, Morbius breaks through her fog-shrouded memory, as his bloodlust begins to tempt him, but he fights back the urge then are attacked by the Werewolf! They fight until dawn, which weakens the Werewolf. Morbius slakes his thirst on the beast's blood as the latter reverts to Jack Russell! He wakes in a hospital where he's been treated for blood-loss as a John Doe & as the moon rises, and the Werewolf breaks out of the hospital & at the La Brea tar pits, they are attacked by the Werewolf & forcing him into a tar pit! Jack escapes the pit & lopes off! "When the Moon Dripped Blood" sees Jack hired as a Stuntman for a movie, but someone fires real bullets, not blanks at him & He finds a trail of slime, and follows it to a cave, where he sees Buck and Clary hung by their ankles above a pit. Brad and the missing crew, in ceremonial robes, prepare to sacrifice the three of them to an ancient deity. Jack realizes the film was Brad's ruse to lure his victims to their fate! The moon rises, as Brad raises his blade, but Jack transforms, and the Werewolf breaks his bonds, attacking the cultists as giant tentacles emerge from the pit & Brad is grabbed by the thing as the cave collapses! "The Return of the Brain" r/p ADVENTURES IN TERROR #6 (Oct. 1951)!
5 – July 1975 – NM-! “The Plunder of Paingloss!” by Moench & Yong Montaño shows Jack Russell and Buck Cowan visit Satanist High Priest Joaquin Zairre, hoping to learn of a cure for lycanthropy, but later, forces Jack into a cave & stand in the center of a pentagram…when the moon rises, Zairre intends to shoot the Werewolf with a silver bullet as a sacrifice to Satan! At that same moment, a silver lariat shoots from a pool in the cave to snare the Werewolf & he emerges in a cavern where he meets the wizard Grithstane and a warrior named Paingloss. The Werewolf attacks until the wizard conjures another lariat which paralyzes the beast, allowing Paingloss to carry him to his transport, a vessel called the Night-Streaker.They are set upon by bat-like creatures called shadow-sharks. The pair beat them back as the vessel plunges through the barrier to crash on the daylight side of this world. The Werewolf reverts to Jack, who introduces himself to Paingloss. The warrior tells him of this world, Biphasia, which is divided into the light-side, Searland, and the dark half, Shadow-Realm & tells WW he is to be a gift to his lover, Delandra the Half-Queen, who collects strange creatures for her menagerie! After many fights, Grithstane spirits the Werewolf back to Earth the moment he left, as Buck hits Zairre, which sends the Satanist in the water, never to be seen again! "The Most Miserable Man in the World" (from MYSTIC #16), "He's Coming to Get Me" (from WORLD OF FANTASY #11) and "The Unsolid Man" (from WORLD OF FANTASY #13)!
