These awesome Giant-Size Comics were first released in the summer of 1974 and are coveted by Comics’ Collector’s today!
I am the original owner...these are all bought by me off the newsstands when they were released!
1 – July 1975 – VG/FN! "If Asgard Falls.." r/p Thor King-Size Special #2! In Asgard, the Tournament of Titans will soon begin, and Odin sends out the across all the worlds, the Beacon of the Brave calls to any and all who would take part in order to win a suit of golden armor! But in deep space, the signal is also seen by Loki and the Absorbing Man, giving Loki an idea for revenge! Loki sends his astral form into the unstoppable Destroyer, who then attacks Asgard! Stopping time, Odin sends a beam of forgetfulness out across space, striking Loki, closing down his mind and shutting down the Destroyer as well. Odin is proud of all the warriors assembled, and announces that they are all champions. Each year at that very instant, all of their armor will glow as gold to remember their heroism!
"When Titans Clash!" r/p Journey Into Mystery Annual #1, as Thor and Loki travel through Jotunheim, they find the Lost Passage leading to Olympus. Thor enters into the passage & in Olympus, Thor encounters Hercules! Both seek to cross a bridge at the same time, with neither yielding. They fight and discover each the equal of the other. Zeus stops the fight, congratulates Thor as a valiant warrior, instructs the two combatants to swear friendship to each other, sends Thor back through the passage and uses his powers to cover the passage with a mountain!
"The Cobra and Mr. Hyde!" r/p Journey Into Mystery #105, as Thor stumbles upon the Cobra who escapes by ducking into Calvin Zabo's apartment. Zabo transforms into Mr. Hyde and the two fight until they realize they share a mutual enemy. Using Hyde's time reversal ray, they backtrack Thor to Dr. Blake's office where Don has just stowed his cane in a steel cabinet, swearing off becoming Thor, so that he can focus on loving Jane. Hyde and Cobra take Jane hostage, demanding that Blake reveal Thor's location. Blake tricks the villains into retrieving the cane & secretly transforms into Thor. Cobra and Hyde lead Thor across town to a Heavy Machinery show, where Cobra uses and atomic-powered hydraulic hoist to wrest away Mjolnir, which drops into the guts of the machine. As the two villains bear down on him, Thor knows he will turn back into Don Blake in 60 seconds!
