Seller's Description
3 Original British 5 1/2 inch x 9 inch 1910s Handbills for THE KYRLE PICTURE PALACE, ROSS.
Ross has had a cinema since 1913 when the Kyrle Picture Palace opened in Gloucester Road. Then in 1950, the Kyrle Picture Palace closed and was finally knocked down in the 1970's to make way for shops.
Ross-on-Wye, or Ross on Wye, is in Herefordshire. Originally it was known as "Ross" but became "Ross-on-Wye" in 1931 due to confusion with other places of the same name
The cinema was named after the famous 17th century local benefactor John Kyrle.
The handbills are in fine condition.
