Original Engravings titled DUTCH BOATS ON THE MAAS, RUNNING FOR ROTTERDAM & HERRING FISHING IN THE CHANNEL.
Herring Fishing in the Channel after a painting by Theodor Alexander Weber (1838 - 1907). A German painter.
Dutch Boats on the Maas after a painting by Walter William May (1831 - 1896). May was a marine painter in oil and watercolour who served in the British Navy from 1850 to 1870, retiring as captain. He exhibited from 1859, mainly coastal and shipping subjects in England, France, Holland and Norway.

The Graphic was a British weekly illustrated newspaper, first published on 4 December 1869 by William Luson Thomas's company Illustrated Newspapers Limited. It continued to be published weekly under this title until 23 April 1932 and then changed title to The National Graphic between 28 April and 14 July 1932; it then ceased publication, after 3,266 issues.
