Original 1839 9 1/8 inch x 5 3/4 inch Etching and Engraving titled DOROTHEA
Frontispiece to 'The Keepsake' for 1830, interior with Catherine and Baptista, a young woman upset at right, a man in the centre holding her by the arm and staring at another girl standing at left, who looks over her shoulder.
Engraved by Francis Engleheart (1775 - 1849). London engraver specialised in book illustrations.
Drawn by Francis Philip Stephanoff (1788 - 1860). Stephanoff became a popular painter of historical and domestic subjects, working both in oils and watercolours. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and British Institution from 1807 to 1845, and with the Old Watercolour Society from 1815 to 1820.
