This superb soloist emerged in the 1940's with a need to express the feelings of the GIs and their sweethearts during one of the most romantic periods of the last century, the war years. The quintessential superstar had 9 gold records achieved before there was MTV or television. Here are two of his best baritone vocals from Decca's "Personality Series" Records. Both sides maintain a high gloss and are mostly clean and rich sounding. Some label fading. Faint play wear is hardly evident. Virtually no scratches, and background hiss is minimal. No cracks, chips, or skips.
Side 24632-A presents "Room Full Of Roses", and side 24632-B offers, "A Chapter In My Life Called Mary". Both are vocalized by the deep voice of Dick Haymes, with rhythm accompaniment.
