Seller's Description
There existed at least three different Silvertone Labels in the United States. The older Silvertones (shown here) was a record manufactured for Sears Roebuck, & Co. for sale in their chain of department stores and through mail order. Silvertone Records were manufactured c. 1905 - 1931, and then revived briefly in 1940 - 1941. Early releases were single-sided lateral-cut gramophone records; in the late 1910s double-sided discs began to be released.
Here is a Military Descriptive with the artists only identified as a Band. If anyone knows the reason for that, we'd appreciate you sharing with us and others. Perhaps not naming the performers allowed omission of royalty payments, though such an arrangement is doubtful in the early 20th Century.
In excellent shape! A very decent gloss still shows, a few minor scuffs and scratches, and clean overall. The "notice label" is still attached to the reverse. No cracks, chips, or skips. Very good audio awaits the listener!
Presented here is "Uncle Sammy's Boys In Camp".
