Seller's Description

This superb soloist emerged in the 1940's with a need to express the feelings of the GIs and their sweethearts during one of the most romantic periods of the last century, the war years. The quintessential superstar had 9 gold records achieved before there was MTV or television. Here are two of his best baritone vocals from Decca Records. With a near-mint grading, only faint playwear shows on this exceptionally clean and clear sounding record!

Side 23899-A features, "Stranger Things Have Happened", a theme from the 1947 Sam Coslow Musical Production of "Copacabana", and side 23899-B plays, "Je Vous Aime", from the same musical. Both tunes are  are vocalized by the deep voice of Dick Haymes, with the Gordon Jenkins Orchestra.
