Bound in gilt decorated red calf with ware to the upper and lower spine. Lower 2 inches with ware to front and rear hinges. Illustrated with engraved title and 40 full page engraved plates. Most of the plates have minor marginal foxing and fingerings. The work contains handsome steel engravings of scenes throughout the east. Many of them executed by Hermann J. Meyer. This volume is devoted to the East Coast and includes views of Niagara, Washington, West Point, Mount Vernon, New York, and Harper's Ferry. Scarce book. See Photos.
