The Situation, Extent, and Boundaries, of all the Empires, Kingdoms, States, Provinces, &c. in Europe, Asia, Africa, and America. Together with The Religion, Learning, Policy, Manners, and Customs, of the Inhabitants. To which is prefixed, An Introductory Dissertation, Explaining The Figure and Motion of the Earth, the Use of the Globes, and Doctrine of the Sphere, in order to render the Science of Geography easy and intelligible to the meanest Capacity. London, 1762 & 1760. Printed for J. Coote. Volume 1 second ed. Vol. 2 first ed. Two volumes folio (9.5” X 14.5”), not paginated. Original calf boards rebacked. Overall tight binding with considerable ware to the surface of the boards and to the extremities. Contents with some light staining, foxing and soiling. I have photographed the worst pages. Illustrated with engraved frontis, 48 full page maps, 25 full page views and 60 costume plates. So far as I can tell there are 12 missing plates, most of which are views. SEE PHOTOS.
