Seller's Description
A pre-owned 'Scarlet en Crinoline' D'Arceau Porcelaine De Limoges France porcelain plate in excellent condition. The 1st of a 12 plate collector series by artist Francois Ganeau for D'Arceau of Limoges, France. Issued to commemorate 100 years of Paris fashion from 1865-1965. The plate was issued in 1976.
The round plate has a white high gloss background glaze. The top of the plate reads "Scarlet en Crinoline - la Femme inaccessible 1865" in black script around the rim. Scarlet is dressed in Parisienne fashion of 1865 on the plate by F.R. Ganeau 1976.
The bottom of the plate reads: "Assiette Numero BZ 704, Patronne par la Couture Parisienne, JL, Porcelaine de Limoges France, Premiere Edition, Les Femmes Du Siecle 1865. In French "Inaccessible in the skirt of crinoline whose vastness separates her from the real world, such as Scarlett O’Hara in the style of Worth, here is in 1865 the ideal image of woman". F.R. Ganeau."
It measures approximately 8.5 inches in diameter. The plate weighs 11 ounces. Has a hanger on the back of the plate. An additional plate hanger is included. Comes without certificate or original packaging. The piece is in good condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or repair.
It is being sold as used in "AS IS" condition. Please ask any questions before purchasing. I can provide more pictures upon request.
