Seller's Description
1925 was the year Columbia switched from the old method of acoustically recorded pressings to the new electric recording process licensed from Western Electric. This company has a long history, dating back to 1888, and was one of the "Big Three" in recording companies, competing with Edison and Victor. They remain the oldest continually used brand name in recorded sound, now owned by Sony Music since 1988.
Offered here is a circa 1900, pair of vocal solos with orchestra. Graded VG+, with no cracks, chips or skips gives a mostly clear audio. Light wear, moreso on the B side with a couple of scratches - otherwise we would grade excellent.
Side 4213 shows Gilbert's, "Bonnie Sweet Bessie" and side 4214 offers Tucker's popular "Sweet Genevieve". These melodies are performed by Merle Tillotson.
