Seller's Description

1925 was the year Columbia switched from the old method of acoustically recorded pressings to the new electric recording process licensed from Western Electric. This company has a long history, dating back to 1888, and was one of the "Big Three" in recording companies, competing with Edison and Victor. They remain the oldest continually used brand name in recorded sound, now owned by Sony Music since 1988.

Offered here are the Latin sounds from the 1940's of the FABULOUS Xavier Cugat and his Waldorf-Astoria Orchestra.

Side HCO 1208 presents "Linda Mujer" (You Never Say Yes! You Never Say No!), a Guaracha beat featuring a vocal chorus by Del Campo. Side HCO 1209 lists, "Tico Tico", a Samba rhythm, from "It's A Pleasure" with vocal by Elene Verdugo.

Very good condition with a lot of glossy sheen. No cracks, skips, or chips. Minor scuffs and scratches.
