Seller's Description
This is an old used colour postcard of Entrance to Lion’s Gate Bridge, Vancouver, B C (Canada), posted in Vancouver on May 4 1956 and the card still has the 4c Bennett stamp attached. There is a narrative on the reverse – “This is the largest suspension bridge in the British Empire. It is 4,977 feet long; the suspended section is 2,778 feet long. The height of the towers is 380 feet. When completed in 1938 it cost six million dollars. At present this bridge handles 20,000 cars per day”. It is a Color Photo – Courtesy Gray Line Sightseeing Tours, published by Vancouver Magazine Serv. Ltd, Vancouver, numbered V16 and the card is in very good condition -- no creases (apart from a minor scuff at the bottom right) or obvious marks (other than some franking near the top), and with only very slight scuffing to some corners.
