Selling a Regimental Lapel Badge / Tie Pin of the British Colonial Era Royal Hong Kong Regiment (V)... RHKR Badge on Regimental Colour in Red / Yellow and Blue
The RHKR (V) was formed by Local Peoples with some Officers From UK and attach with the Regiment... They are a part of the British Force Hong Kong Garrion under 48th Brigade Gurkha Field Forces...
The Hong Kong Volunteers Regiment were first formed in 1854 and were renamed as The Hong Kong Altillery and Rifle Volunteer Corps in 1878. In 1917 they were again renamed as, The Hong Kong Defence Corps. In 1920 the name of the Corps was again changed to, The Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps. In 1961 the Corps became The Hong Kong Regiment (The Volunteers) and were awarded the "Royal" title in 1970.
This illustrious Regiment was disbanded in 1995... An interesting item of British Empire importance... this must be a very collectable item!
